EURES services

The free movement of workers in the European common market opens up new opportunities for finding workers with the appropriate knowledge and skills. EURES can help you to remove barriers to mobility and employment of workers from other Member States.

Information and counselling services

Free movement of workers implies the possibility of recruiting workers from other Member States without them having to obtain a work permit. We can help foreign companies interested in setting up a business in Croatia by referring them to sources of information on the possibilities of starting a business and establishing a company as well as on financial incentives for investors in the Republic of Croatia. We will provide information on living and working conditions in Croatia and on employment regulations.

Publication of job vacancies on the EURES Portal

Pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/589 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 April 2016 (EURES Regulation), the needs for workers published on the Job Portal of the Croatian Employment Service shall be available on the EURES Portal. If your needs for workers cannot be met on the national market and you would like your vacancy notice to be recognisable to users of the EURES Portal, we will advise you on how to draft a job description that will attract candidates with the suitable profile.

If you have a need for workers from a particular labour market (e.g. when the nature of the work requires native language speakers), we will ask for help to promote your vacancy via the EURES network in the desired country.

Upon request and with the support of EURES from another Member State, vacancy notices from foreign employers may be published on the website of the Service. Interested employers from other EU Member States are expected to contact EURES Advisers in their home countries.

Organisation of the selection of candidates for recruitment

In agreement with you and in cooperation with EURES from another Member State, we will carry out a pre-selection of candidates from abroad for you. Upon your request, and to the extent possible, we will provide support in organising interviews with candidates in their home country.

Participation in job fairs in Croatia and abroad

With the support of EURES, you can take part in European Job Days in Croatia or other Member States, as well as online. Upon your request and on your behalf, we will present your needs for workers and job opportunities in your company at trade fairs in other countries or online job fairs (European Online Job Days).

Financial support for the employment of workers from other Member States

Candidates for your vacancies from other Member States of the European Union may, under certain conditions, receive funding for travelling to an interview at your premises, moving, taking language courses and obtaining recognition of their qualifications. Employers from the SME category can apply for financial support to cover part of the training costs and help the new employee, apprentice or trainee navigate the new environment.

More information on the support available can be found here, and in case you need assistance and advice on applying for support, please contact the nearest EURES Office.
